CAT-Linx HDBaseT

RGB Spectrum is pleased to announce the availability of its new CAT-Linx™ HDBaseT line of products—a full range of input and output (I/O) cards, wall plates, and transmit and receive endpoints.

The new CAT-Linx I/O cards easily install in a Linx matrix switcher or OmniWall display processor chassis. The new cards can be combined with other I/O cards in existing systems to offer expanded connectivity options over copper, fiber and now twisted pair cables.

CAT-Linx I/O cards transmit HDMI signals with embedded audio between a chassis and endpoints up to 100m (328ft) away over CAT-6 cable. When used as a standalone pair, CAT-Linx endpoints offer Long Reach mode with transmission distances of up to 150m (492ft).

With Power over HDBaseT (PoH) technology, CAT-Linx I/O cards provide power directly to endpoints through the same cable that carries the AV signals, effectively eliminating the need for external power supplies. Unlike competitive products which support PoH on only some inputs and outputs, the Linx Prime 32x32 chassis has sufficient power to provide PoH to all input and output endpoints simultaneously. CAT-Linx devices are fully compliant with HDBaseT specifications and are designed to work seamlessly with third-party products.

CAT-Linx HDBaseT products can transmit RS-232 control signals along with video and power over the same cable. This enables users to control a range of connected devices including disc players, media players, projectors, flat panel displays and audio processors, using serial commands.

"CAT-Linx products offer tremendous opportunities for custom installation professionals to fully capitalize on installation cost savings," said Jed Deame, vice president of marketing at RGB Spectrum. "CAT-Linx HDBaseT cards are incredibly easy to integrate into a Linx Prime switcher or OmniWallprocessor, providing installers with a cost-effective solution for long cable runs, with video, audio, control and power all transmitted over a single cable."

The addition of HDBaseT I/O cards and endpoints with PoH capabilities expand the functionality of Linx Prime switcher and OmniWall processor systems. For more information about RGB Spectrum’s CAT-Linx HDBaseT products, please call us at 510-814-7000 or email
