- Open architecture:
- Supports third-party sources, including cameras, computers, and other signals up to 3840x2160, 60Hz
- Supports third-party playback applications (e.g. VLC)
- Expandable design, available in 1RU and 2RU configurations
- Compatible with the full range of products in the Zio product family, including encoders and decoders, multiviewers, and video walls
- Choice of H.264 or H.265 video compression for optimal video quality or bandwidth efficiency
The Zio Recording System consists of the following components:

- Multiple storage capacities to suit varying requirements
- Record and playback simultaneously up to 30 IP streams
- FIFO architecture for efficient recording
- Export video segments for external playback
- Single or synchronized group playback
- Full playback controls: Jump to Time, Pause, Resume, Play (0.1x to 10x speed)
- Optional ruggedized server manufactured in the U.S. by Mercury Systems for mission-critical military applications
