RGB Spectrum showcased its latest advances in video processing and networked AV solutions at the recent International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) and AFCEA WEST conferences.

IDEX, held biennially in Abu Dhabi, promotes the latest defense technologies, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa regions. AFCEA WEST, held in San Diego, California, is the premier U.S. Navy event focused on operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference demonstrates emerging systems, platforms, technologies and networks.

RGB Spectrum’s products are the de facto standard for mission-critical applications, simulation, training, missile testing, and C4ISR. High-profile installations include P-8 Poseidon trainers, simulators for the Global Hawk/Triton UAV, F-16 and F-22 aircraft, Apache, Kiowa, Chinook, and Blackhawk helicopters, and operational deployments on the U.S. Navy AEGIS destroyer fleet, the Canada Navy frigate fleet, and the THAAD and MEADS missile defense programs.

At both shows, RGB Spectrum showcased the versatile Galileo video wall processor. Supporting multiple walls and individual displays, Galileo video wall processors offer unmatched flexibility of input and output possibilities. A new “wall mimic” feature of the Galileo system lets users encode the entire video wall or any portion of it and transmit it as an IP stream to be viewed by one or more recipients on the network. This unique capability permits operators to push any content anywhere in the world right from the display wall processor.

The company also demonstrated Zio Video-over-IP a complete solution for the transmission and display of networked video. The Zio product line provides a comprehensive solution, including encoders, decoders, multiviewers, wall processors, operator stations and apps for smart displays and mobile devices.

A new Zio app for mobile devices connects remote forces. The system automatically discovers remote users, allowing them to select and view available Zio streams. In addition, system operators can "push" content out to remote users, who then receive a standard mobile OS notification alerting them to new content availability.

Zio enterprise-wide functionality includes the ability to bridge LANs and WANs. The breadth of Zio offerings plus integration with third-party hardware adds up to a complete networked video solution from a single vendor.
