MediaWall 4200 Installed in Benchmark Hospitality International Media Center

"Expect the Extraordinary" is the mantra that guides Benchmark Hospitality International. The company operates more than 20 convention and resort properties that appeal to both business and leisure guests. Benchmark recently relocated its headquarters to a new facility in The Woodlands, TX featuring a state-of-the-art media center.

Benchmark set out to create an eye catching experience for potential clients. To accomplish this goal, RGB Spectrum technology partner, Ford Audio-Video, designed and installed a video wall for the new facility utilizing a MediaWall 4200 display processor feeding six 50" LCD displays in a 2x3 array.

Versatility is provided by collection of audio and visual resources that can be selected to meet any presentation scenario. Among these resources are high resolution computers for display of presentation, spreadsheet and multimedia content, cable set-top boxes and BluRay players. In order to display content from the cable set-top boxes and the BluRay players in their native digital source resolutions, the display processor must be, and is, HDCP compliant. Rounding out the installation is a 7.1 surround sound system and a control system. These capabilities produce a video wall that is the focal point of a 10 minute immersive presentation of Benchmark's history and capabilities.

The MediaWall 4200 delivers uncompromising multi-window processing for computer graphics and digital video. An exclusive feature of the Media Wall 4200 is its support of HDCP (High Definition Content Protection), enabling the display of content protected sources. At Benchmark, multiple BluRay and digital cable programs are viewable and can be positioned over any portion of the LCD 2x3 wall. "We wanted a central canvas that would allow us to display all of our capabilities; and we wanted it from a proven company," said Bruce Burkhalter, senior vice president of technical services for Benchmark Hospitality. Burkhalter further added, "We are very happy with the system. It does everything we hoped it would do."

"Every customer wants his news, sports and private content in high definition on his marquee display walls, making the display of HDCP content critical to the success of the corporate display wall," said Scott Norder, Vice President of Marketing for RGB Spectrum. "The MediaWall 4200 display processor fulfills this requirement with resolutions up to 2048x1152, EDID management, HDCP support, and robust 24/7 operation. We are pleased to support Benchmark's objective for guests to expect the extraordinary."
