Cambridge Health Alliance’s New Security Operations Center Monitors 24/7 with the Galileo Video Wall Processor

Cambridge Health Alliance

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is a nationally renowned community health system serving over 140,000 patients in the Massachusetts’s Boston area. CHA’s integrated healthcare delivery network is comprised of three hospitals and fifteen primary care facilities. CHA has built a new security operations center to ensure facility safety and optimize operational efficiency.

The centralized SOC serves CHA’s entire regional healthcare network. It is equipped with a state-of-the-art video wall system powered by RGB Spectrum’s leading-edge Galileo display processor. The Galileo-based 2 x 3 video wall array provides security personnel with a consolidated view of security systems dispersed throughout CHA’s regional facilities. The processor aggregates a diverse range of sources and displays them on the large wall for personnel to monitor remote facilities centrally.

The Galileo processor receives live inputs from multiple platforms at various CHA regional locations. Inputs include surveillance cameras, VMS systems, access control, visitor and personnel tracking, infant protection systems, alarms, fire and life safety, 911 communications and local news broadcasts. The processor combines these disparate sources and displays them in windows of any size, anywhere on the video wall.

The video wall is controlled by two operator stations. Operators control the wall using the Galileo processor’s easy, intuitive GUI to select preset display layouts, switch and route sources, and size and position display windows.

The processor delivers real-time throughput and exceptional image quality, unlike other systems that can drop frames or cause image tearing. It supports up to 56 displays and an unlimited number of windows for IP, graphics and/or video sources.

With wall mimic viewing capability, the entire wall display or any region of interest can be encoded and streamed to remote PCs for live viewing.

The Galileo processor supports IP and conventional baseband inputs, 4K input/output resolution, integrated IP stream encoding and decoding, multiple video wall support, overlap for edge-blenders, bezel compensation, HDCP, the ability to run applications natively, a scripting interface for third party system control, and automatic stream discovery of RGB Spectrum’s Zio® Video-over-IP encoders.

The Galileo processor is ideal for a range of video wall system applications including mission-critical operations centers, command centers and control rooms, as well as boardrooms, corporate lobbies, and large-scale digital signage. Combining enhanced 24/7 reliability with the flexibility of a PC system, the Galileo display processor is a PC video wall done right.
