RGB Spectrum Technology Partner Wins DIGI Award

University of New Mexico Anderson School of Business

Digital Signage Magazine has presented RGB Spectrum technology partner, Digital Display Group, a DIGI Award for a video wall installation at the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Business. The DIGI Awards recognize the most successful and innovative digital signage deployments within the past year.

The new conference room is in the recently refurbished Financial Center. The room creates a "trading floor" look and feel to give students a real world experience with real-time news, data, financial information and high definition broadcast feeds. The system can be configured for different operational scenarios as well as a lecture mode. The wall can also display PowerPoint presentations, document camera feeds and media playback, and CastNET and Scala InfoChannel 5 software for stock and news tickers.

At the heart of the installation is an RGB Spectrum MediaWall® 2500 display processor. Orion PDP narrow mullion panels make up the 2x5-display array. A Crestron touch panel system is used for recalling different layouts and to choose other display resources.

Key considerations for the choice of MediaWall were reliability and technical support. Brigit Davidson, project manager for Alpha's Digital Display Group said, "This is a terrific opportunity for students at the University to learn in a state-of-the-art environment and benefit from real-time financial information. The video wall in the new Financial Center provides the University with a user-friendly technology that enables professors to teach with live data, while students can enjoy a more 'real world' financial atmosphere."

"The video wall has created an excellent classroom and the seamless wall of displays incorporates our existing system," said Josh Saiz, analyst/programmer, Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. "We are so happy with how it increased student moral and enhanced the learning environment."
