Linx Fiber Switcher
The innovative technology of RGB Spectrum's FiberDVI™ extender is now available in an all fiber switcher. Based on the Linx DVI family of switcher, the F series offers all the advantages of advanced EDID management and HDCP compliance plus the ability to run over a single fiber up to 500m. With chassis sizes up to 32x32, each modular I/O card features two independent channels with SC connectors used in conjunction with our FiberDVI extender transmit and receive modules located at signal sources and displays.
In addition to high resolution video, a supplemental bi-directional data channel supports the Data Display Channel (DDC). This is where the EDID and HDCP data travel, allowing the system to take advantage of the Linx switcher's unique EDID management capabilities, including EDID capture and EDID pass through. HDCP compliance allows the switching and transmission of protected content from devices such as Blu-Ray disc players and PCs with HDMI outputs. Best in class optical conversion and pixel reclocking of the signal provides the sharpest possible image and all over a single multimode fiber optic cable.
Other advantages of fiber cabling include immunity to RF and EMF interference and "sniff resistant" emissions. Users can select from a variety of fiber bundling and jacketing options that best match their system requirements.
Outboard FiberDVI extender transmit and receive units feature a compact, headshell type architecture that plug in directly to a signal source or display. Transmit units may be powered by the source device, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
Linx Fiber switchers are available in three chassis sizes: Linx 800F (8x8), Linx 1600F (16x16), Linx 3200F (32x32). Each chassis can be short loaded and expanded as needed. Input and output cards and power supplies are user swappable and require no special tools for installation.
