Gold's Gym Works Out with 4View™ Multiple Window Display Processor

February 21, 2003, Alameda, CA - The Gold's Gym franchise in Alexandria, Virginia is renowned companywide for its innovative design and facilities management. This fitness complex has raised the bar in exercise gyms. According to Pleasant Lewis, Owner of the Alexandria Gold's Gym, "Our philosophy is to optimize our customers' well-being. We take a proactive approach to provide our customers with a dynamic, energizing environment that motivates them and maximizes their exercise benefits.

Lewis continued, "In designing the cardio workout room in our new 37,000 square foot facility, our goal was to keep our customers interested and invigorated. We wanted an entertainment experience that would engage and inspire them to stay on the cardio equipment longer."

The Alexandria Gold's Gym employed the expertise of audio-visual systems integrator, Nard's Entertainment to develop and install a large display entertainment system in the new facility. Michael Nardella, President of Nard's explained, "The objective was to create a large scale, high impact video wall packed with a variety of exciting, stimulating, and entertaining content. We recommended RGB Spectrum's 4View display processor because of our experience with it in numerous installations in which it produced excellent results and customer satisfaction. The 4View processor gives us the capability to display four separate video windows on each of the big screens with exceptional image quality that really grabs viewers' attention."

Gold's Gym in Alexandria, Virginia offers its clientele the leading-edge in entertainment systems with RGB Spectrum's 4-View multiple window display processors.

Two 4View processors are installed in the cardio facility. They receive input from a variety of NTSC composite video sources, including the Gold's Gym corporate "Club Com" channel, PowerPoint presentation images scan converted from a PC, Direct TV satellite feeds featuring MTV, news, sports, and television broadcast channels, a DVD player, and a local CCTV video camera located in the gym's child care facility, so parents can monitor their children while they exercise.

Each 4View processor outputs to a Sanyo PLC XP46 projector in 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. The visuals are projected onto the facility's large 18-foot video wall screens. Gold's Gym staff use the 4View's simple-to-operate front panel controls to select the desired video inputs and set the display configuration for either split-screen quad mode or full screen display of any input.

Gold's Gym high impact large screens use RGB Spectrum's 4View multiple window display processors to entertain and motivate members to workout longer for maximum exercise benefits.

Lewis commented, "When you walk into our cardio facility, it's really impressive. I can't say enough about the visual impact the 4View system makes. It's the 'wow' factor. The 4View delivers great video quality with awesome clarity and sharpness. By giving us the ability to display up to four images on a single screen, we can maximize the entertainment to our customers. Everybody thinks it great. Our customers really enjoy the system."

Lewis added, "The 4View entertainment system sets our facility apart from the competition. We're signing up members at a higher rate than ever before. The system really shows positive results in the numbers."

The 4View™ processor displays four video inputs at full resolution at up to 1280 x 1024p or 1600 x 1200i pixels, for dramatically better visual quality than traditional video quads, which display each video signal at only 25% of true resolution. Various models offer NTSC/PAL composite, S-Video and SDI (CCIR 601) digital video inputs. In addition to high resolution RGB output, a full time auxiliary NTSC video output is available to connect to a codec for video teleconferencing and distance learning applications. For 16:9 screens, the 4-View 100 offers a wide screen mode with one large video window plus 3 stacked windows on the side.
