New DVI Fiber Optic Cables

January 22, 2008, Alameda, CA - RGB Spectrum announces the introduction of its XtendView® DVI fiber optic cables with electronics integrated in the head shell. The cables are available in two models, XtendView Plug & Play™ and XtendView InstallEase™, specifically designed for threading through conduit.

XtendView DVI Fiber Optic Cables deliver flawless, noise-free digital connection up to 100 meters. Fiber cable eliminates the signal transmission problems associated with copper. Coupled with RGB's Linx™ DVI 8x8 Switcher, the DVI Fiber Cables enable a complete end-to-end signal distribution solution. Digital switching and optical transmission together provide peak performance in the most demanding applications.

All optical and electrical components are housed in the connector shell. Four cores of hard polymer clad fiber carry the picture and synchronizing information. DDC signals are carried over copper wire. DTV resolutions for 480I, 480p, 720p, 1080I and 1080p are supported. Compatible computer resolutions include VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, UXGA and WUXGA, up to 1900x1200 pixels.

With two models available, RGB provides a DVI fiber optic connectivity solution for every short haul application.

The XtendView Fiber Optic Plug & Play cables are ready to use in the most demanding digital applications. The cables are DVI pin powered, obviating the need for an external power adapter in many cases. Unlike copper cables, they offer hassle free connectivity. An optional external power supply is available.

XtendView InstallEase Fiber Optic Cable is the only integrated DVI Fiber Optic cable that can be instantly field terminated. The cable assembly is designed to be pulled through conduit without the detachable DVI connector, which is simply screwed on. No tools are required.

XtendView Fiber Optic Cables are right choice for the most challenging DVI transmission requirements. They take the worry and guesswork out of DVI connectivity. Cable lengths available include 30, 50, 70 and 100 Meters.
