DVI Dual-Link Switching
![]() |
June 24, 2009, Alameda, CA - RGB Spectrum's Linx™ CrossXFormat™ family of routing switchers now offers a DVI dual-link option. Dual-link accommodates signals as high as 3840 X 2400, with pixel clock rates up to 330MHz. CrossXFormat™ switchers with this option can operate in a variety of modes: pure DVI single-link, pure DVI dual-link, or single and dual-link both, or with analog RGB as well, providing an industry leading level of versatility.
The DVI dual-link option is available on CrossXFormat™ models 3300, 1700 and 900, with switching matrices from 8x8 to 32x32. These are scalable systems, with two inputs and outputs per module. This unique architecture gives the Linx switchers the ability to mix DVI single and dual-link signals. On each two-channel input module, the user has a choice of DVI dual-link, DVI single-link or analog RGB/YUV signals. An output module can pass either two DVI single-link signals or one dual-link signal.
Linx CrossXFormat matrix switchers also support HDCP, allowing them to accommodate content-protected signals. An HDCP encoded signal can be routed to up to 32 outputs simultaneously. In addition, EDID management and control are simplified with RGB Spectrum's Total EDID Manager™, which provides the user with the most complete set of EDID management tools available.
Linx switchers are designed to simplify system integration. All functions are easily set up and controlled using a command line interface or graphically via a standard web browser. Front panel controls provide quick access to call up presets or create a routing assignment. Built-in cable equalization extends cable lengths without the need for external signal extenders. Output connectors can supply up to 500mA of power for pin-powered devices such as cables or extenders, obviating the need for external power supplies. A modular architecture simplifies I/O card replacement should it ever be needed.
Built on RGB Spectrum's long tradition of quality and reliability, the Linx CrossXFormat switchers are the optimal solution for mixed signal environments: DVI single or dual-link plus analog RGB, without the need for external adapters; RGB signals are converted internally and switched as DVI.
Designed for 24/7 operation, Linx™ CrossXFormat switchers provide an unmatched combination of performance, features, robust construction and ease of use.
