Dual Channel DGy Digital Recording & Streaming System
![]() |
July 27, 2007, Alameda, CA - RGB Spectrum has expanded its industry-leading DGy™ line of digital recording and streaming systems with the introduction of the new 401x model. The DGy 401x can record and replay up to two multiplexed channels simultaneously. The DGy sets the standard in terms of image quality, delivering the highest fidelity reproduction of fine details and intricate symbology of graphic images up to 1600 x 1200 resolution. With two multiplexed channels in a single unit, the DGy is now more cost effective than ever.
The DGy uses the latest JPEG 2000 compression to achieve almost lossless recording of high resolution sources. In addition, the new Model 401x offers multicast streaming with bandwidth-efficient interframe compression.
The DGy 401x offers record and replay of two fully synchronized channels, a powerful capability to review correlated visuals. The DGy system captures, compresses, stores, replays, and streams imagery at up to 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution. It supports computer, radar, sonar, FLIR, X-Ray, HD and other high resolution signals, stereo audio, and optional HD-SDI. In dual channel mode, the DGy 401x can record one 1280 x 1024 input at up to 30 frames per second or two inputs at 15 frames each. Each input is recorded in real time and playback of the two signals is fully synchronized.
The DGy 401x includes an internal 238GB removable hard disk drive and an optional 238GB fixed hard disk for high capacity recording storage from 10 to 20 hours per drive.
With its multicast streaming capability with interframe compression, the DGy 401x codec is an ideal solution for streaming high resolution graphics across networks to multiple users for remote viewing. High resolution audio-visual content can be sent instantly across networks for live viewing and collaboration at remote locations. The DGy 401x codec performs multipoint multicast streaming of a live input at up to 30 frames per second with exceptional image quality and capability beyond conventional streaming products.
The DGy's interframe compression offers the ability to transmit the video streams without overtaxing the network. It provides flexible adjustment and optimization of transmission bandwidth to accommodate your network bandwidth requirements. In addition to multicast streaming, the DGy supports file transfer to and from a remote computer or file server using standard ftp protocol.
The DGy offers an exclusive concurrent record and replay option, which allows review of pre-recordings while live recording continues. Other leading edge features include external time code synchronization, event marking, and instant random access. Multiple DGy units can be interconnected to support simultaneous, synchronized recording of more than two channels. The DGy real time clock can be synchronized to IRIG-B time code or Network time Server (NTS). Remote playback on a Windows PC is supported using a JPEG 2000 plug-in to the standard Windows Media Player.
The DGy provides a superior combination of superb image quality, rich feature set, and outstanding performance to make it the ideal digital recording and streaming solution for demanding, mission critical applications. The dual signal capability of the 401x model makes it the most affordable model in the DGy line-up.
