New Capabilities and Enhancements for DGy Digital Recording & Streaming Systems
![]() |
July 18, 2008, Alameda, CA - The DGy codecs for digital recording and streaming are now available with new enhancements and optional capabilities. DGy systems have become the de facto standard for recording and streaming in simulation, command-and-control, mission analysis, debriefing, training, and other mission critical applications. With more features, DGy codecs continue to offer the best price-performance in the industry!
The new enhancements include:
Automatic Backup Recording Option
The DGy 201x and 401x models now offer an Automatic Backup Recording option to simultaneously record to the internal hard disk drive and an external network attached storage device. This exclusive dual recording feature provides automatic backup of recordings, offering convenience and peace of mind.
Password Security for File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
For added internal security, the DGy File Transfer Protocol (FTP) feature now offers a user selectable password for access and activation of the FTP operation.
Multicast Stream Transmission Optimization - TTL (Time-to-Live) Adjustment
The TTL feature gives you the flexibility to configure the DGy multicast transmission characteristics to accommodate the individual network environment and characteristics. This will better ensure that packets within the multicasts streams are properly transmitted and received by recipient DGy codecs.
Error Reporting Feature
The DGy now offers an error reporting feature for optimization and troubleshooting. Errorlog will report any errors that occur during DGy operations. You can view the entire list or one of more of the last errors encountered. The list is limited to 64 error entries. If the list exceeds this limit, the error entries will be removed and replaced with the new entries on a first in, first out basis.
RGB Spectrum's recording and streaming technology is designed for mission critical applications including simulation, command-and-control, emergency operations centers, missile testing, security, and telemetry. Noteworthy installations include the F-35 Lightning III Joint Strike Fighter simulator program, the U.S. Army Future Combat Systems program, the U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command, the U.S. Army Operational Test Command, and deployments on the U.S. Navy destroyer fleet, the Canada Navy frigate fleet, and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.
The standard enhancements are available at no charge by upgrading your DGy firmware to version 3.1. To download this firmware, go the DGy "Support" page on the RGB Spectrum website for your applicable DGy model.
