Marketing  
Vice President of Marketing  

RGB Spectrum is seeking a seasoned VP of Marketing to assist us in taking the company to the next level. The position reports to the CEO and serves as a member of the Management Committee.

 
Responsibilities include:  
  • Develop product positioning and marketing plans
  • Train sales and distribution channel representatives
  • Perform market research
  • Develop specifications for future products
  • Manage trade shows and other promotional activities worldwide
  • Develop marketing communication tools (newsletters, brochures, direct mail)
  • Contribute to the direction of future product development

    Position Requirements  

    Seeking 15 years of sales or product marketing experience within the audio-visual or video industry. A technical background is preferred, with specialized and in-depth knowledge of audio-visual technologies. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Some travel required.

     
    Education  

    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering.

    Engineering  
    Lead Hardware Engineer  

    Summary:
    RGB Spectrum is looking for an experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to develop board level solutions for our next generation of products. Provide technical leadership to a team and work in concert with a project manager to design board and box-level products that are rich in video and signal processing functionality.

     
    Responsibilities:  
  • Develop board and box level solutions for a growing video product line.
  • Provide technical leadership to a project team, including architectural definition, design assistance to project team, specification & design reviews, debugging support, verification and regulatory oversight, and release to production.
  • Analyze system requirements, review chip specifications, determine design approach & unit test requirements, and write hardware design specifications.
  • Research & identify components, create library symbols, capture schematics, write layout instructions, support inside or outside PCB layout including all reviews.
  • Coordinate long lead items, kitting, fabs & assembly of prototype PCBAs.
  • Prioritize, schedule, track, and coordinate the development, verification and release of your design work with other project team members and project managers.
  • Verify hardware functionality both in your own test environment as well as in conjunction with the rest of the project team and system test engineers.
  • Design for and achieve required regulatory and safety certification.
  • Effectively communicate ideas, objectives and plans both internally and outside the Hardware team, including presentations to company management.
  •  
    Qualifications & Requirements:  
  • BSEE or equivalent.
  • 10+ years hands-on experience developing hardware for video products including project lead experience that took designs into full production.
  • Practical knowledge and experience developing high performance video hardware including converters, scalers, drivers, and processor subsystems.
  • Familiarity and practice in the application of strong hardware development practices.
  • Familiarity with video signals and standards.
  • Proficient with high speed design techniques with clocks ranging from 165 MHz to over 1.5 GHz.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, including hands-on familiarity with analog & digital oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements including radiated emissions, susceptibility, immunity and safety.
  • Strong knowledge of current PCB fab and assembly technology supporting design for manufacturability, environment (i.e. RoHS & Green) and reliability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to lead and work closely with others in a small team environment.

    Desired Skills:  
    Experience with one or more of the following would be a big plus:
  • Strong FPGA design skills including familiarity with Xilinx & Altera tool flows with Verilog & VHDL.
  • High speed serial interfaces including SERDES interfaces.
  • PCB layout skills including placement, routing, and package generation.

    Software Engineer  

    Summary:
    RGB Spectrum is looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to develop embedded application software for our next generation of products. Develop software targeting embedded processors in board and box-level products that are rich in video, signal processing and control functionality.

     
    Responsibilities:  
  • Develop applications and embedded system solutions for a growing video product line.
  • Analyze system requirements and co-develop system architecture with lead hardware designers, assuring key needs and concerns of software and firmware implementers are considered and satisfied.
  • Develop high-level software design documentation to translate architecture into top level software and firmware modules with clear functionality and interface requirements.
  • Review chip specifications, determine design approach & unit test requirements, and write detailed software design specifications.
  • Develop new code as well as maintain existing code base.
  • Prioritize, schedule, track, and coordinate the development, verification and release of your code with other hardware & software engineers and program managers.
  • Verify software functionality both in your own test environment as well as in conjunction with the rest of the project team and system test engineers.
  • Effectively communicate ideas, objectives and plans both internally and outside the Software team.
  •  
    Qualifications & Requirements:  
  • College degree in EE, CS, or Mathematics or equivalent.
  • 10+ years hands-on experience developing software for embedded applications.
  • Experience with Linux in an embedded multi-threaded environment.
  • Experience working with lead hardware designers to develop system architectures and partition functional requirements across software, firmware, DSPs, CPUs and FPGAs.
  • Experience translating software and firmware architecture into high-level software design documentation suitable for implementation.
  • Experience with real-time video processing in embedded applications.
  • Familiarity and practice in the application of strong software development practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of C and experience with assembly language programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to lead and work closely with others in a small team environment.
  •  
    Desired Skills:  
  • Experience with one or more of the following would be a big plus:
  • Practical knowledge and experience designing man-machine interfaces.
  • Video compression technology (MPEG, H.264, JPEG2000).
  • High bandwidth media streaming in a network environment, including traffic shaping and driver optimization.
